Today is the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter! A friend asked how I knew my house, and this was my answer:

Someone asked, and my first answer was Ravenclaw, but then I realized that I am waaaaay too emotional to be objective, and I choose what I think is the right thing over what is definitely the smart thing every time. So I thought about what I want, and mostly I want justice and equality, which could be a Hufflepuff thing, too, but a Hufflepuff would approach that through diplomacy and peacekeeping and cooperation, where my instinctive reaction is to fight for it, to take down the wall with a crowbar and a sledgehammer and scream until my voice is heard, so gotta be Gryffindor. I never considered Slytherin, honestly, because I have very little personal ambition, am skeptical of institutions of leadership, loathe nepotism, and generally do not have my shit together.
