Today an ex coworker/casual friend asked me for a “favor” that would be, for me, several hours of intensive work for which I would normally be paid as much as $500. She asked me to do this for free and by tomorrow at the latest.

I said no. It was hard af to do, and amid the relief, I also feel a not small amount of guilt, but I recognize this as good self care, and I am proud of myself for sticking up for myself.
