Hi! Yuletide is my favorite time of year, and right now you are my favorite person in the world! Let me tell you a little bit about myself, my fandoms, and what I like about stories.
So, I have my MFA in writing and I work for a university writing content for online classes. My background before that is in medicine and psychology, so if you don't do your research there, I'm going to know (sorry!) If you are so inclined, I do love long, plotty stories that involve a lot of research, but that's definitely not necessary, don't panic. I just like stories, especially character-driven stories, and stories that have good voices and character interaction and are engaging and fun to read. I love characters that do The Right Thing over The Smart Thing, characters that are flawed but trying. I love female characters who aren't (just) love interests and who are smart and sharp and kickass. I love stories with happy endings, but I also love stories that gut you with beauty and loss. Really, I'd love to read most anything, but I do squick really hard to sexual assault stuff, so please no non-con.
Thunderheart
I just love this film, and I want to spend more time there. I asked for Ray as a character, since I'd love to read stories about his background--what was his life like growing up? What about his undercover work? What's in his go-bag?--but please feel free to incorporate other characters. (I am particularly partial to Maggie and Crow Horse.)
Thunderheart has been my number one fandom for the past few years. I love this movie, and I love its fandom. You can check the #thunderheart tag to take a look at my Thunderheart stories and meta, but basically I love everything about the movie. I love that it's so detailed and textured; I love the characters, who are flawed but trying; I love that everything you need to understand the plot machinations are given to you by the script. Really, any fic for this fandom would be a boon, but if you're looking for direction, I ship Ray and Crow Horse pretty hard, and I would love a story that contained their banter-fueled relationship. A buddy cop story, or something domestic and silly, like they decide to make beer together. And I am not averse to sex at all, as long as it doesn't involve Maggie; I really love that she's nobody's love interest, and I'd hate to lose that. I would love to read a story about Maggie, but not a romance.
Top Gun
You know, I kind of like this fandom better than the film. I guess it's because I'm so interested in Iceman, and he gets virtually no backstory. So that's really what I'd like: a story about Ice, either after TOPGUN or his life before.
There is a #top gun tag for your perusal, but basically I love Iceman and I want him to have a story. I pretty much ship him with anyone, although in my personal head canon he's been gay all his life, and known he was gay all his life, so you'd have to work really hard to get me on board with het Ice fic, though I'm sure it could be done. I don't know very much about the military, but I do have a background in physics, and I'd love details of either kind.
Lucky Number Slevin
ALL the Lindsey/Slevin, please! All the Lindsey, at least. How does she fit into Slevin's life after the film? Do she, Slevin, and Goodkat have awkward/hilarious family get-togethers? Details, please!
I really don't want a doom-and-gloom Lucky Number Slevin fic; I want something giggly and sweet and clever, like Lindsey and Slevin's relationship in the film. Action-fic would be great--I'd love to see Lindsey backing Slevin up on a job--but I kind of just want banter and fluff for this prompt.
The Kids in the Hall
I just think KITH fic could be a scream. I picked Jerry Sizzler because I'd love a fic about the Sizzler Sisters--where did they come from? How did they find each other? What other adventures have they gone on?--but feel free to include any other characters you'd like.
I think that pretty much sums it up. I will note that I have a mental illness and a background in psychology, so do tread lightly on the mental illness jokes. Aside from the Sizzler Sisters, my favorite KITH characters are the prostitutes, so if you need an act break . . .
