head full of snow
May. 14th, 2017 10:40 pmThere are one million things I cannot deal with. Spoilers behind the cut.
MR. JACQUEL. I admit that I was nervous about the casting for this part,
but he was PERFECT. (That cat's a motherfucker, though. Tell me that's not Bast.)
The Jinn. The fucking Jinn. I was really looking forward to this scene, and it was better than I hoped for. I love this show, and I have mad feels about EVERYTHING, but the Jinn scene blew me away. It was perfect. So much, So. Much. was communicated without dialogue, and it was so beautiful and touching and reverent and desperate and just absolutely heavy with the weight of loneliness and wanting and waiting and life. I felt watching it exactly the same way I did when I was reading it. When it was over, I felt like I had been holding my breath for a long time.
Shadowwwwwwwwww. I think they're leaning a little hard on Shadow's "what's real?" convos, but I guess since it all has to happen onscreen third person, that's probably to be expected. Something I liked from the book that Ricky Whittle is doing well is going from 100% wtf wtf wtf these people are crazy I'm not helping I'm not that guy to completely in the game. There are seconds between Shadow freaking out about the cop rolling up to Wednesday and him becoming Andy without a break in step. And the snow. He made it snow! I am having so many Shadow feelings help.
The next episode is supposed to be all about Laura, and I could not be more excited.
