Dear Yuletide Author,

Hello! I am excited to kind of meet you. Yuletide is my favorite fannish activity of the year, which makes you my new favorite person! Congratulations. :)

My usual DNW for Yuletide is unhappy endings, but with some of this year's fandoms, I can see how that might be unavoidable. Still, I would prefer, if you can manage it, light-heartedness.

My absolutely not please no triggers are:

      
• Anything even approaching rape/non-con.
      
• Anything about institutionalization; please please please no asylums.

Let's talk about what I do like.

I love stories. I love good writing and seeing how stories fit together, their working parts. I love character-driven stories, and found family stories are my jam. I love strong women. I love characters who choose the right thing over the smart thing. I love deep, exploratory fiction, and I prefer it to plot (if you have to choose. I like plot, too, but I'm fine with some navel gazing). I love each of the fandoms I've chosen, and I am thrilled beyond telling of the fanfiction possibilities for each.

Stranger Things (TV 2016)
Character: Eleven (Stranger Things)

Stranger Things is a Netflix television show that premiered this summer. It is about a small town with kids on bikes and a monster and it's really atmospheric and balances humor and horror quite well. My favorite part of Stranger Things is the little gang of kids on their bikes, and Eleven. I would love, love, love stories about Mike and Lucas and Dustin and Will and how they incorporate Eleven into their lives. I realize that is a lot of characters to juggle, so I only requested one: Eleven.

Basically, I need Eleven stories. I need Eleven being scary powerful, and dealing with life in the DOE; I need Eleven investigating what happened to 01-010 (come on you know you were thinking it); I need Eleven going to the Snow Ball and eating meatloaf and having a real family please oh please.

The Brothers Bloom (2008)
Characters: Stephen Bloom, Bang Bang (Brothers Bloom)

The Brothers Bloom is this adorable movie in which Mark Ruffalo and Adrian Brody are con men. HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE THIS MOVIE? For this Yuletide, I have singled out two characters: Stephen and Bang Bang.

First: I totally ship it. But BFF gen fic for Stephen and Bang Bang would be THE BEES KNEES. I would love them pulling a con, or getting drunk, or getting drunk and pulling a con... if you're not inspired to put them together, I would love to know more about Bang Bang's past and Stephen's other cons and basically you can do no wrong here.

My Skin is a Natalie Merchant song from her album Ophelia. You can find the lyrics here.

So. I have been obsessed with this song for a good long while now. It's so sensual and evocative, and the more I listen to it, the more I want to know more about its story. Who is this frost killing hour woman? Who is the angel sweet love of my life? My favorite line, and one of the most intriguing, is kiss me now you'll catch your death. Is that literal? TELL ME EVERYTHING.
